From my understanding, their tunes are based more on adjusting timing/fuel to get more power than just boost.
#Best ecu tuning software for vw install#
Going stage 2 soon once I have a chance to install my downpipe.

I've been stage 1+ and their tune makes the car very linear in acceleration giving it a more stock feeling. To the Op, I'd also have to recommend Unitronic. I just want to have a nice reliable tune (or piggy) to get a little more power out of my car without having to worry about something going terribly wrong and paying a ton of money Does the JB4 or tuning keep the cars failsafes? I don't know much about failsafes or what tunes or piggies do to the failsafes. I just haven't heard how good it is long term and how it compares to the APR tune. Out of curiosity Greg, do you pay for the flash upfront and then only labor when flashing off and on again, before and after services?Įurodyne seems to be the easiest in terms of an at home option. But after I've gone through my prepaid services I very well could find another place (APR dealer) that will service without having to flash. It seems APR would be the -best- option if I want to be safe.
#Best ecu tuning software for vw Bluetooth#
It seems that with the bluetooth adapter I am able to swap the mapping and even turn the box into a complete passthrough if I want? (Haven't read up on it enough) JB4 as I can remove it before I do my servicing (I did the VW prepay services). Thanks for all your responses! I've pretty much narrowed down my decision to either a JB4 or an APR/Eurodyne tune. It sounds like you are very concerned about service, which is good this means your likelihood of ever having something go wrong usually goes down. APR stage 1 has proven to work well and has not shown any negative side effects to the vehicle long term (as the route cause). We have used the Dinan plug and play with great luck too, but again not enough miles to determine longevity. This is speculation and merely mentioning something I read somewhat recently. Just hold onto your documentation to the shop doing the work and you will be fine.Ī lot of our newer VW/Audi Clientele come back to us for service because they don't want the hassle at the dealer or have to flash back to stock and back to software.Īs for long term longevity on the software vs piggy back measure, we have not tested the Neuspeed unit long enough but there are some longevity reports of codes popping up with that device.

We present this to our customers too, have you thought about having the shop that flashes your ECU perform your services? You have no real ties to the dealer unless you need to go back to them for warranty. Nothing but good results as long as maintenance is kept up on. We have many cars with 30,000 + miles with a tuned ECU from APR.
